Access to clean water, proper sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities in schools is not just a necessity, it is a MUST and why we do the WASH projects in schools.
WASH projects are transformative, especially in underserved communities. They address critical challenges and lay the foundation for healthier, more equitable futures for our children in that they significantly improve:
- Health and Wellness – By reducing waterborne diseases, respiratory infections, and other health risks, WASH projects create safer environments for learning and ensure students stay healthy.
- School Attendance and Retention – The availability of safe sanitation facilities is particularly impactful for girls, reducing absenteeism linked to menstruation and improving dropout rates.
- Enhanced Learning Outcomes – Proper WASH infrastructure means basic needs are met and children can focus on their education, leading to improved academic performance.
- Dignity and Self-Esteem – Safe and private sanitation facilities create an environment of respect and confidence among students.
Our WASH projects have been successfully implemented at Sandakahle and Zimisele Primary Schools thanks to our partnership with DIAGEO. Continued collaboration can ensure our vision of transforming lives and creating sustainable futures for schools and communities can continue.
