triple-P, Partners for People and Planet
triple-P is a founder-led, people and planet focused Non-Profit Enterprise which enjoys Public Benefit Organisation status. Our committed team walks the long-term sustainability journey with our partners and participants to unlock green skills opportunities for a prosperous future. We recognise the value of people’s knowledge and capabilities as an asset in creating sustainable livelihoods and restoring the natural environment.
Our study shows that, on average, a school loses 800 000 litres of potable water through water leaks annually.
That is the equivalent of 42 000 buckets of water per year.
triple-P is currently working on a Water Conservation Project to improve the water infrastructure, sanitation and hygiene facilities in 50 schools in South Africa and replenish 40 million litres of lost water.
We are raising R120 000 (US$7000) per school to rectify the lack of access to clean water & sanitation facilities in 50 schools across South Africa.
Help us reach our goal:
triple-P appeals for a call to action after tests reveal children in 20 schools in Hammanskraal are drinking severely contaminated water.
"We are currently working with 4 of the 20 schools to install water purification systems, however we cannot take this task on alone. We are raising funds to install systems in all 20 schools. It is an outrage that the lives of our children are threatened by the water they are drinking at school. We cannot let this basic human right be overlooked." - Ntswaki Ditlhale (triple-P Director)
We need R520 000 (US$30 000) per school to install solar powered water purification systems that will provide clean, safe drinking water.
Help us reach all 20 schools:
Access to clean drinking water should not hinder the education of South Africa's children.
By installing water tanks in 20 schools in Port Elizabeth we can ensure our learners have enough, safe drinking water throughout their education.
Many rural schools have no access to clean potable water, endure poor sanitation facilities and are drinking dirty, contaminated water.
To install water tanks in each school and provide schools with training in basic plumbing, we are raising R80 000 (US$5000) per school.
Help a school install a water tank:
Our partnerships are our most valued asset. We know real change comes from working together,
learning from one another and creating a support network for all stakeholders.
