In celebration of Women’s Month, Triple-P is shining a spotlight on inspiring women who are making an impact in their communities. Our first interview is with Ntombifuthi Cele, the director of Clean Source of Life, who shared her journey, and her vision for her greater community. Read on to discover her story…
How It All Began
The journey of Ntombifuthi and Clean Source of Life is one rooted in community empowerment and growth. It began when two organizations from eFolweni and Ezimbokodweni, with funding from AECI and implementation by triple-P, united to clean up their communities. “triple-P not only facilitated the partnership with AECI and helped our community assess its most pressing needs but provided essential training and skills to address these issues,” recalls Ntombifuthi.
Skills Development and Growth
The hands-on approach by triple-p not only led to the formation of Clean Source of Life but also the provision of the tools and knowledge to succeed in business while continuing to uplift community. “We have all gained a wide range of valuable skills in the development of our company. I earned a NAS counselling certificate, which allows me to provide support to women in our community who face various challenges. I also obtained my driver’s license, which has been crucial for our business operations,” explained Ntombifuthi.
What’s Next?
Clean Source of Life, is currently focused on plumbing projects that help save and clean water in key areas. They are collaborating with major companies like AECI and working on community initiatives that focus on water conservation. “One of our main goals is to inspire and empower other women to get involved in plumbing—an industry often seen as a man’s job, but one we are proving is possible for everyone,” concluded Ntombifuthi.
As women, we symbolise the backbone and strength, we never give up. So rise up, take action, and empower yourself. Believe that you can, and you’ll achieve anything you set your mind to.” Ntombifuthi Cele.
