Water Safety Testing

Posted on 10/07/2023

In a recent series of school education visits, the triple-P team focused on drinking water and the importance of water safety testing.

These learners were taught about the importance of water sources and that contaminated water cannot be seen with the naked eye. The lesson focused on testing the water that they drink for things like E.coli, pH, phosphate, nitrate, nitrite, metals, total hardness, total chorine, free chlorine, bromine, and total alkalinity.

As always the engagement with learners is a rich and worthwhile experience that goes beyond the importance of water testing and data collection, but exposes young people to science and the importance of understanding how our planet works.
