This week the triple-p team and partners DIAGEO took another step forward in promoting health and well-being of local communities with the handover of the WASH infrastructure to Zimisele Primary school.
The WASH (Life, Dignity and Health) project aims to improve the health and well-being of students and staff by providing them with access to safe and dignified sanitation facilities.
- The project included the following upgrades and renovations:
- Refurbishing the 6 boys’ toilets (Including 1 male teacher’s toilet) and installing 5 urinal pans
- Refurbishing the 9 girls’ toilets (Including 1 female teacher’s toilet).
- Painting both the boys and girls toilet blocks
- Renovating the school kitchen including installing new built-in cupboards, a geyser, and tiles.
- The installation of 2 JoJo tanks with guttering to the roofs.
- Installing doors and safety gates on the school toilets, the caretaker room and kitchen.
This WASH project is just one of the ways we can make a tangible difference to the lives of the students and staff, and we look forward to rolling out similar initiatives in the near future.
