At Triple-P, we believe that the success of a project lies not only in its implementation but in its consistent monitoring and evaluation.
“This is how we can ensure a project is sustainable and will have a long-lasting impact on the communities we serve,” Ntswaki Ditlhale Triple-P founder, advocate & managing director.
This approach is clear in the Rethabile Primary School water project, where the water processing system installed in September 2023 continues to provide learners and staff with over 500 000l of clean drinking water per month. Thanks to a partnership with Takats’Eau and Watericon 3 schools in Hammanskraal were fitted with water processing systems. Until this point, their only access to water was a supply of contaminated borehole water.
During our recent monitoring and evaluation visit to Rethabile Primary School, we observed the water purification system to be in excellent condition and noted that:
- The systems are well maintained by the school staff which means they are functioning at their best.
- The school had secured the purification systems by installing a fence, an alarm system and surveillance cameras.
During the session, the school principal shared that since the system was installed the school had never run out of water and this has resulted in a growing commitment by the school community to maintain it.
This strong sense of ownership and responsibility by the school and its community is exactly what we strive for and is critical in ensuring we can continue to roll out projects such as these,” concluded Dithlale.
