Meet Dr Kombi Sausi – non-executive director of triple-P and head of our research and development.
Kombi is a research specialist with more than 15 years of experience supported by an academic background, most notably a PhD from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
His work in research and policy development is achieved with a view to practical implementation and the goal of addressing a range of multifaceted societal challenges. Bridging the gap between policy and on-ground realities is the bedrock of triple-P’s work, and being able to advocate for inclusive solutions is how we ensure basic human rights, like access to clean water, are met.
Kombi started his PhD internship with the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) and worked his way up to become a research specialist. He has undertaken international studies on HIV/AIDS, early childhood development, water access, and local governance, and has played a significant role in several high-impact initiatives, such as the District Development Model’s implementation in South Africa and Lesotho’s efforts to prevent HIV infection among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW).
Our work is all about the balance between people and planet and looking at practical solutions to sustainable development. Efforts to engage schools in particular goes a long way to addressing local challenges and ensuring societal well-being, said Kombi.
