The team at Enviro Waste Picker Recycling in Tembisa has been at it again, cleaning up waste, promoting awareness of waste AND creating employment through effective waste management.
This has been achieved through the creation of a recycling buyback centre, made possible through the partnership with AECI and Barloworld Mbewu.
Established in 2023, Enviro Waste Picker Recycling aims to adopt the best waste management practices through recycling while promoting awareness of waste and waste management in schools and the community of Tembisa. The inclusion of a recycling buyback centre adds a crucial piece to the puzzle, creating employment opportunities in the community while improving the environment. This holistic approach aims to provide solutions to systemic problems, particularly in communities where job opportunities are scarce and service delivery remains a challenge.
Triple-P is incredibly proud of the work being done by the 5 men and women currently employed at the buyback centre and we wish our on-the-ground changemakers success in keeping Tembisa clean.
