Triple-p is excited to announce its partnership with Barloworld Equipment in a new tree planting project aimed at reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change.
The project kicked off at Mabande School & Hlangu Phala Primary School on 26th October, where 25 trees of 4 different indigenous species were planted. The intention is to continue planting trees in schools throughout Emalahleni and Middleburg with the aim of planting 200 trees by the end of December 2023.
This project not only promotes greener schools by planting trees to improve biodiversity and regulate temperature during hot summer months, but it also facilitates lesson plans on climate change and the role of trees in addressing this. This is a critical part of the triple-P approach to ensuring the knowledge of ecological processes is shared and that communities understand the importance of maintaining a healthy planet.
The long-term goal is to plant 100,000 trees in various regions throughout the country.
